Hong Kong International Kung Fu Festival 2009 World Guoshu Competition
As 2009 marks the 60th anniversary pf the People’s Republic of China, as well as the occasion of the East Asian Games in Hong Kong SAR, we consider this an opportune year to launch the inaugural World Guoshu Competition. To celebrate China’s upcoming 60th anniversary, martial arts authorities, social celebrities and sportsmen from around the world will gather in Hong Kong to participate in the first international competition for Chinese sports….

The Australian Team
The 1st World Guoshu Competition will be 
held on the 21st - 26th of July. The proud Australian team (pictured) will represent their country under the leadership of Master Jirong Zhang in the divisions of;
- Tai Chi Push-Hand
- Chen Style Tai Chi Form and
- Jiao Shu (Or Shuai Jiao - Traditional Chinese Wrestling)
- Shanda (Full Contact Fighting)
The team has some new talents in its ranks this year and has been working very hard in the lead up to the competition. On arrival in China training will commence straight away in Beijing for 6 days and 6 nights with top coaches and masters. The Australian Team looks forward to competing with the worlds best in Hong Kong.
